The adults in our school
You can meet the teachers on our class pages but meet the whole staff together here!
Mrs Lyndon Chance
Hello. My name is Sally Lyndon-Chance. I am the Headteacher at Pendock.
I qualified to teach in 1988 and enjoyed gaining experience in a variety of settings prior to, and in preparation for, taking up headship here in 2006.
At Pendock we all have high expectations of what our children can achieve. Through an innovative and broad and balanced curriculum we aim to instil a love of learning and inspire all children to strive for excellence in all aspects of school life.
We enjoy working with families and supporting our pupils to develop as confident, caring and successful individuals, equipped to face the challenges of the 21st Century.
Our highly skilled staff and excellent resources combine to make exceptional learning environments.
We strongly encourage visits to the school and look forward to meeting you in person.
In the meantime I hope you will enjoy perusing our website and gaining insight into the pleasure of learning at Pendock.
Hello, my name is Mrs Evans and I teach Class 1. I love my job and look forward to all of the exciting things we learn about in Class 1. One of my great passions in life is running so having the Pendock Spring Chicken Run to help organise each year is one of my highlights. I also love organising Running Club in the lead up to it. I am Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and have just started back at University studying for the National SENDCO Award to give me a new challenge to work towards. I am Pendock’s Staff Governor.
TeacherHello. My name is Mr Greenbank and I am one of the teachers in Class 2. I can often be found teaching maths or science and I enjoy discussing the bigger questions in our Class 2 philosophy sessions.
TeacherHello, my name is Mr Hawkings and I am one of the teachers in Class 2. I teach Year 3/4 for Maths and Year 5/6 for Writing. I also handle the School Council.
Teaching AssistantI am a teaching assistant working in Class 1 supporting the children throughout the school day. My role includes working with children doing interventions including Dancing Bears which helps their reading skills and Language for Thinking which helps with verbal reasoning and reading comprehension. I work with children who need support with their speech and language development. I teach music where the children are able to experience playing a variety of instruments and learn some traditional songs and dances. I am also a lunch time supervisor.
Teaching AssistantI have been at Pendock Primary School for 3 years working in Class 1. I work with children who need support with their mathematics skills using Numicon and with their handwriting skills using the Jimbo Fun programme. I always aim to work hard but have fun, too. My other role is that of lunch time supervisor and we never let a bit of rain get us down! I have a passion for all things cake! Any opportunity given you will find me in the kitchen whipping up a delicious and colourful batch of cupcakes or cake. I bring this love into the class and thoroughly enjoy cooking with the children; getting a little messy is always enjoyable. I have also supported an after school baking club making a variety of delightful treats!
Teaching AssistantMy name is Ms White and I am a Teaching Assistant in Class 2. I help the teachers in class and also take small groups for extra help. I am an Artist and sewing teacher outside school and love to share these skills with children. I am passionate about reading and really enjoy teaching reading comprehension to the Year 6 children and exploring classic literature.
Teaching AssistantHello! I’m Mrs Stockwell and I’m a Teaching Assistant in Class 2. We are fortunate at Pendock to have lovely spacious grounds and I really enjoy it when we use our outside space for lessons. I also love reading and so always look forward to spending time in our guided reading sessions.
SecretaryHi, my name is Fiona Curnow. I work in the office at Pendock Primary and, among many other things, manage the school’s money, order resources, do the weekly newsletter and hopefully make sure parents know what is happening when! You can always come and talk to me if you need to know anything about school meals, clubs, music lessons, uniform, trips etc. I have been here since 2007 and my youngest daughter used to be a pupil here (she loved it so much I think she wishes she still was!) I’m a keen runner and look forward to the Spring Chicken Run.
SecretaryHello, I’m Mrs Ashby. I am a School Administrator and work in the office alongside Ms Curnow. My job is varied and interesting and includes administration support to the Head, and other members of staff, as well as general school administration. I also look after the Governors in my role as Clerk to the school’s Governing Body. I am responsible for carrying out DBS checks on staff and volunteers, monitoring Attendance and Policies, welcoming and directing visitors into school, Minuting Governing Body meetings and, my favourite, eating Wendy’s lovely food, to name but a few.
CleanerHello! I’m Mrs Howells the school cleaner in charge. I work after school when the children have gone home. I keep the school smart and tidy, getting it ready for the staff and children each day.
CookMy name is Mrs Johnson and I run the Breakfast Club each morning and prepare and serve the meals each lunchtime. I have worked at Pendock School for over 5 years and I love coming into work each day! I ensure that the menu is reviewed regularly and love seeing the children really enjoying their food. I encourage them to try new things and offer tasters to those that are a little unsure.
