13 March 2020 Newsletter 24
Dear Parents and Carers
Coronavirus Advice: In line withDepartment of Health & Social Care guidelines, we are ensuring that when in school children wash their hands frequently and thoroughly, use and then discard tissues when blowing noses or sneezing and cough into the crook of their elbows. If your child should develop a new, persistent cough or a temperature please keep them off school for 7 days. In line with the latest Department of Education guidelines, the Residential trip for Year 5 & 6 is currently scheduled to go ahead with our Risk Assessment having already been adapted to take Coronavirus precautions into account. That situation will be monitored continuously in the light of any new Government advice being issued. We would appeal to everybody to be conscientious about hygiene and mindful of everyone else’s health.

Class 1 have been busy mapping out the human and physical features of the school grounds just in case any extra-terrestrials fancy landing their spaceships here for a visit. The children worked really hard on this activity, which was tricky given the fact that they needed to think about things from a birds eye perspective. There was some excellent team work though! The children also performed their version of Jonah and The Whale as a class in their very own assembly today. Everyone was fantastic and the story was relayed with humour and zest. Thank you for your hard work on this!
Please can Class 1 pupils make sure they have wellies, trainers and pumps in school each day.
Class 1 have been practising an assembly and next Thursday they will be performing it in Celebrations Assembly. Please do come and watch them!
This week Class 2 enjoyed a trip to The Hive in Worcester to see the Explosive Food show as part of British Science week. It is always great to experience some learning outside the classroom!

Please see attached letters and forms if your child is in either of these years. The cost for Level 1 is £5 per pupil and £10 per pupil for Level 2. If your child in Year 6 did the training with us last year, the school will cover the cost for this to be repeated out of our Primary Sports Grant;otherwise, please make a payment online.

Report on Children’s Services at Worcestershire County Council: We have been asked to draw your attention to a letter to parents from WCC regarding inspection of Children’s Services. This can be found at the front of the yellow folder at the Parent Information Point and invites parents’ input into the forthcoming inspection. The background to this can be found at https://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/news/article/1868/children_services_in_worcestershire_improving
This is an inspection by Ofsted and the Quality Care Commission into services provided at County level and not a report on individual schools.
Friends’ News: We still need some keen volunteers to help on the day of the Spring Chicken Run (Sunday 22nd March in case it slipped your minds!) and setting up beforehand. Please sign up on the list at the back door. This is a very important fundraiser for us and we need plenty of people to make it a success, so please help if you can and ask anyone you know who might be willing.
