21 June 2019 Newsletter 35
Dear Parents and Carers
Menus: These are attached for the 3 week period which will take us to the end of this term. We have made a few changes to the order of meals so please look over this carefully with your child before making your choices. We are also offering the option of a picnic tea for Class 2 pupils going to the Dance Festival at Bromsgrove on 3rd July. If you do not wish to take up this option, please remember they will need an extra ‘packed lunch’ to take with them.
Class 1 News
Picnic: We are very sorry that the British Camp walk and picnic was cancelled this week due to the weather. This is going to be rescheduled for the morning of Friday 12th July. Further details to follow.
Class 2 News
Language Festival at Hanley Castle Tuesday 25th June: A reminder that all pupils will be going to Hanley Castle High School all day for this. If you have not yet returned the permission slip sent out last week, please do so on Monday. The organisers have now told us that the croissants to be served in the café activity are nut-free but they are not suitable for pupils with a wheat or dairy allergy.
All pupils going on this trip will need to take a packed lunch and drinks and snacks with them plus £1.50 if they are purchasing a drink and croissant from the café. They will need to be dropped at the High School for 9.30 am and collected just before 3.00 pm to avoid congestion with the normal school buses.
Afternoon Tea: A big thank you to everyone who helped in all sorts of different ways with the Afternoon Tea today and to all those who have supported the school over the year. We hope you enjoyed your afternoon.
Hotbuckle Theatre: This company will be performing ‘Emotion on the Ocean’ for the whole school next Wednesday morning as part of our ongoing support for pupils’ wellbeing. We are asking for a £1 voluntary contribution towards the cost of this performance, which can be made either via Payments4Schools or the green postbox.
Transition Day: Next Thursday, 27th June, will be our Transition Day. Year 6 pupils who are going to Hanley Castle next year will be spending the day there and all other pupils will be ‘moving up a year’ for the day. We will also be joined by our new Headteacher Mrs Gilroy to add even more authenticity to the day!
