Dear Parents and Carers

Class 1 News

Picnic on 19th June:  A reminder that we will be meeting up at British Camp with Countryside Day Nursery on the morning of 19th June for a short walk, an ‘elevensies’ picnic and an ice cream.  We will be travelling to and from British Camp by minibus and will be back in time for lunch.  If you have not yet returned the slip for this please do so as soon as possible.  We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £4 towards transport and food costs.

School Milk:  For those who are starting Reception or Nursery in September we have enclosed a Cool Milk leaflet if you wish to register for milk, which will be supplied free to under 5s.  If you have an older child who would like to start having milk at school you can also go to www.coolmilk.com to register.

Class 2 News

The Big Sing, Worcester University Arena:  A reminder that Class 2 pupils will be going on this (morning only) on Tuesday 18th June.  If you have not returned the slip sent out last week please do so  as soon as possible.  We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £4 towards transport costs. Please note that pupils may take bottled water only with them into the venue.

Language Festival at Hanley Castle Tuesday 25th June:  All pupils in Class 2 will be going on this whole day trip where we will be taking part in lots of different activities to bring our Modern Foreign Language learning to life.  Please sign and return the attached consent form; as usual with this event we are asking parents to make arrangements to drop pupils at Hanley Castle High School for 9.30 am and collect them again at 3.00 pm.  One of the activities is a café where pupils are able to buy a drink and a croissant and will need to take £1.50 in change for this.  The croissant contains wheat and milk so any pupils with these allergies may wish to bring their own snack to have instead of purchasing this.  The organisers are also currently ascertaining whether the croissants have been produced in a way that risks cross contamination with nuts and will let us know early next week.

All pupils going on this trip will need to take a packed lunch and drinks and snacks with them.

Whole School Homework:  Draw and write about your favourite experience from Three Counties trip.

Parking Safety on School Lane:  Although we appreciate that the bridge closure has caused additional traffic problems we would like to remind parents that in no circumstances should they park on the yellow zig zag lines in front of school at any time and particularly when dropping and collecting children.  This reduces visibility for any vehicles pulling out of the track at the side of the school and therefore puts everyone’s safety at risk.  We would also like to remind everyone that other parties do have a right of access down the track that leads to the playground entrance and that, for their own safety, children should walk sensibly along this into the playground.

Afternoon Tea 1.30 pm on 21st June:  All families should have received their invitation to this event next Friday. Please let us know by Monday 17th June if you are planning to attend so that we know how many cakes and scones to make!
