Dear Parents and Carers

Class 1 News

Trip to Tewkesbury Fields Care Home:  We are sorry this has had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances and it will be rescheduled in the near future.

Trip to Countryside Day Nursery Friday 17th May:  We will be visiting Countryside Day Nursery (morning only) to share in some activities for Wellbeing Week.  Snacks and drinks will be provided there.  Please sign and return the enclosed slip.

Homework:  Have a go at learning the tongue twister ‘She Sells Sea Shells on the Sea Shore.’  Try writing your own seaside / ocean themed tongue twister, too.

Story Sacks:  Class 1 took sacks home on Wednesday.  Please return them to the area behind the door in the library by FRIDAY 17TH MAY.  Remember to fill in the Interaction Feedback sheet in the activity folder so your child can receive a Story Sack Award at Celebrations Assembly.

Class 2 News

Mr Greenbank’s Year 6 Maths Group: Finish any remaining pages in your Maths SATs Buster booklets (blue and green), ready to share any questions you need extra help with on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Year 6 Guided Reading Homework:  Please work in your Reading SATs Busters ready for questions on Monday.

Bikeability:  Please return forms for pupils in Years 4, 5 & 6 as soon as possible if you have not already done so.  The office can provide you with spares if you have misplaced yours.  The school will cover the cost for Year 6 pupils who are repeating Level 2 from last year but otherwise please pay £5 for Level 1 pupils or £10 for Level 2 pupils either via Payments4Schools or the green post box.

Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby Tournament:  Please return the slips for this on Monday if you have not done so already.

Transport for Year 6 Pupils Transferring to HCHS:  If you have not already made your transport application please go to www.worcestershire.gov.uk/SchoolTransportApplication in order to do soApplications made after 31st July may not be processed in time for the new academic year.

Summer Musical Concert: A reminder that the forms sent out with last week’s newsletter need to be returned to the green box before Friday 24th May.

Invitation to Musicians: If your child wishes to play an instrument in the Summer Musical Concert on Tuesday July 9th please read the letter attached to the newsletter and complete the form, returning it to the green box at the Parent Information Point by FRIDAY 14TH JUNE.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust:  We are pleased to have been working with the Trust recently regarding Hardwick Meadows and hope the enclosed flyer for their BioBlitz Day on Sunday 9th June will be of interest.

Tennis Taster Sessions:  There are some free sessions in Malvern on Saturday 18th May.  See the poster at the Parent Information Point or https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/OpenDays

Name Labels:  It is a huge help to the school if uniform and other clothes items are properly labelled.  If you choose to use Stikins (flyer attached) it helps to raise funds for FOPS.

Friends’ News:  We are very excited that our new recycling bins are up and running.  Please help us by bringing in your items and putting them in the correct bins.
