Dear Parents and Carers
Announcement from our Chair of Governors, Liz Tillott: The Governors are very pleased to inform you that we have appointed a new Headteacher to follow on from Mrs Sally Lyndon-Chance. Her name is Mrs Hannah Gilroy and she will start at the beginning of the autumn term.
We look forward to welcoming her in the autumn and some of you may catch a glimpse of her during the summer term as she will be coming in now and again to ensure a smooth handover.
Menus: These are enclosed for the beginning of next term. Please look over these with your child and return them on 8th April with payment if appropriate. Year 5 & 6 pupils will be on Residential at that time so it would be appreciated if they could bring theirs in next week.
Class 1 News
Parents’ Meetings: These will take place from 9.30 am onwards on Friday 5th April. Please sign up for a 15 minute slot at the form on the back door. Because of this there will be no ‘Look at the Book’ sessions next Friday.
Class 2 News
Homework: Write a recount of your experience of the Dance Festival.
Year 6 Guided Reading: Complete your reading comprehension and the task in your non fiction SATS buster book.
Class 2 Parents’ Meetings: If you have not already signed up for an appointment on Wednesday 3rd April please do so on the form on the back door.
High 5 Netball at Hanley Castle on 1st April: If your child is in the team and was given a slip on Thursday please return it first thing on Monday if you have not done so already.
Year 3 & 4 Tri Golf Tournament: All pupils in these years will be going to Dyson Perrins High School for this during the school day on Tuesday 2nd April. If you have not already brought back your reply slip please do so on Monday. Pupils will need their PE kit in school and they will also need a packed lunch to take with them due to the timing of the event; some people have ordered a school lunch on this day and if you have paid for it a credit will be carried forward to the next period.
Year 5 & 6 Residential Trip: Everyone is starting to get really excited now that this is almost upon us! If you have not yet brought back your pink and green forms, or if you still have instalments outstanding to pay, please do so as soon as possible
Easter Service: This will be at 9.30 am on Friday 12th April at Pendock Cross Church. Parents and carers are very welcome to join us in the church.
Cheque Payments to School: If you are writing a cheque to school please make it out in full to Worcestershire County Council (no abbreviations) as banks are becoming more particular about this.
Battery Collections: The boxes will not be collected until 3rd June, so you still have plenty of time. Keep collecting!
Spring Chicken Run: Thank you to everyone who supported this event last Sunday. We had so many comments from participants and visitors praising the organisation and the lovely community atmosphere. Final figures are not yet in but we estimate at around £6000 it was certainly our most successful fundraising Spring Chicken yet! There are still a few T shirts left in both adult and children’s sizes – speak to Steph Grainger if you are interested.
Bingo Night 5th April 6.00 – 8.00 pm: This should be a great family event and we look forward to seeing as many of your as possible. Dig out those lucky dabbers! Hot dogs will be on sale and there will be a bar.
