Dear Parents and Carers

Mr and Mrs Greenbank would like to thank the parents, staff, friends and pupils of Pendock for the kind words, cards and presents received over the past few weeks.  Jacob Greenbank arrived safely on 22nd February weighing 6lbs 14 oz.  He is a healthy, happy and loud little boy who is doing his very best to send Mr Greenbank into school with the least amount of sleep possible!

Please also make sure you look at the FOPS noticeboard at the back for a thank you card from Poppy Evans!

Class 1 News

Story Sacks: Children in Class 1 are taking home sacks today with a return date of TUESDAY 26TH MARCH.  Please complete the Story Sack Interaction Sheet and return it with the sack.

Class 2 News

Homework:  Choose a favourite outfit, draw it and describe it in detail, including the colour, the feel of the fabric etc.  Remember to structure your piece using paragraphs.

Year 6 Guided Reading:  SATs Buster work – one reading exercise from each book.

Year 6 Transferring to Hanley Castle High School in September:  If you have not already done so please visitwww.worcestershire.gov.uk/SchoolTransportApplication as soon as possible to arrange pupils’ bus passes for the start of September.  Any applications received after 31st July may not be processed in time.

Dance Festival in Malvern Friday 29th March:  All pupils in Class 2 will be going to this festival at The Chase where we will be sharing our dance based on the ‘Flowers of the Field’ project.  We will be travelling to and from Malvern by coach but will be returning a little later than usual at about 4 pm.  Please return the standard consent form attached and also the slip to indicate whether you consent to them being videoed or photographed for Dance Festival use only.  Pupils should wear a black T shirt and black leggings / shorts for this event.  If they can bring these into school as soon as possible this would be useful for practising the dance.

Money Owing to School:  Reminders are attached if these are any amounts outstanding for lunches, music or Breakfast Club.  There are also statements attached for After School Care up to the end of Autumn Term.  Some people have a credit balance at the end of this Autumn which will be carried forward against Spring term.  If you do have a balance to pay please do so as soon as possible either via Payments4Schools or the green post box, as our financial year end is approaching.

Messy Church:  Please see flyers attached for Saturday 23rd March.  This will take place at Eldersfield, not Pendock as advertised in the Parish Magazine.

Spring Chicken Run:  Mrs Evans would like to thank everyone for supporting the Pendock Spring Chicken Run so far.  Please remember to keep bringing in eggs and cakes for next Friday.  Any more helpers to marshal etc on the day would be very welcome.  There will also be a litter pick of the race route at 9.00 am on Friday 22nd March, if you are free to help.

Friends’ News:  We are delighted to announce that in partnership with Terracycle we are going to be recycling items that would not normally go in the recycling bins AND we are raising money for it – win, win!!  There will shortly be labelled collecting bins appearing under cover by the back gate which will take crisp packets, cake and biscuit packets and old toothbrushes / empty toothpaste tubes.  Full details of what can and cannot be recycled here are on posters in the front and back notice boards.
