Dear Parents and Carers

Class 1 News

Homework:  Write a letter or draw a picture for Father Christmas.  Also, practise the carols for the Christmas Fayre.

Class 2 News

Year 6 Guided Reading:  Design a new chocolate bar. Describe the textures, taste and appearance of the chocolate, the colour and appearance of the wrapping and draw your design.  This is due for next Wednesday.

Year 6 Visit to Glynch Farm:  on Friday 14th December Year 6 will be visiting a local traditional working farm.  We will be travelling to and from the farm by minibus during school time (afternoon only).  Normal school uniform will be worn, but make sure they have sturdy footwear and warm coats.  Please sign and return the attached slip.

Homework:  Write a letter to Father Christmas. Use the correct layout for a letter and remember to include and introductory paragraph.  Also, practise your words and acting for the Christmas performances.

Instrumental Tuition:  If your child currently has violin or keyboard lessons in school, a slip is attached to confirm whether they wish to continue this in the Spring term.  If your child is interested in starting lessons in school, please speak to Ms Curnow for further information.

Reverse Advent Calendar:  A reminder that we are doing these in school during December and would be grateful for non perishable food items, treats and toiletries etc that will be donated to a local food bank.

Christmas Dinner on 20th December:  Each year FOPS generously provide Christmas Dinner for every child in school.  This celebratory meal forms part of our Party Day.  As always, there is a meal free option available.  Please let Ms Curnow know of any allergy concerns you may have so that your child’s dietary requirements can be met.

M50 Closures:  Kier have asked us to pass on the message that due to the weekend closure of the M50 there may be heavier local traffic than usual this weekend.

Singing at the Christmas Fayre:  Children in Class 1 plus Years 3 and 4 will be singing songs they have been rehearsing at the Christmas Fayre next Friday.  Children who are taking part will need to arrive back in school for 5.50 pm – wearing a Santa hat if you have one!  Please let Mrs Haroun know if your child is able to take part so we have some idea of numbers.

FOPS Christmas Fayre:  Thank you to everyone for the support shown so far in bringing in prizes.  Just a reminder that donations of cakes would also be very welcome on Friday 7th December.  Raffle tickets are still available and will be on sale again after school next Wednesday.  If you have stubs and payments to return, please bring these back by Wednesday as well.  If you also have any unsold tickets, please bring these back at the same time so that we can sell them on the night.
