Dear Parents and Carers
Menus: These are enclosed (unless you are a Year 6!) for the start of next term. Please note that we have introduced a few new dishes so do look over them carefully with your child before returning them. We need them back before the end of term to plan our catering efficiently for the start of term, but if it is more convenient you are welcome to pay at the start of September.
Whole School Homework: Following on from our Buzzy Bee assembly this morning, explore your ‘Pledge a Patch’ pack with your family. Make plans for your own mini garden meadow and return your completed leaves by Thursday if you plan to ‘Pledge a Patch’.
Midsummer Concert: This event on Wednesday was a great success again and raised approximately £450 which will go towards resourcing the school. Huge thanks to Mrs Rowe and the children for all of their hard work and to the amazing number of parents, relatives and members of the community who came to support this event. A massive thank you also to Mrs Bates and The Cat’s Whiskers Cakery for supporting our event with the most delicious cakes and the Plume of Feathers pub for donating a wonderful Pimms hamper for us to raffle.
Nursery Provision: A reminder that we are offering nursery provision for children of 3 years and over from September. If you or anyone you know would like to sign up for a place, please speak to us by the end of next week as we will need forms to be completed. Visits are welcome, especially from families who have not previously had contact with the school. Places are government funded starting the term after the child’s third birthday for either 15 or 30 hours per week depending on family circumstances. Meal Payments Outstanding: Reminders are enclosed for school meals up to 6th July, if you have any payments outstanding for these. This could be due to us not having received payment for this period or extra meals taken during the three weeks that were not booked at the outset. If you owe for periods prior to this, it will show as a balance brought forward. We would appreciate settlement of these arrears either via the Payments4Schools website or the green post box.
Leavers’ Events: A reminder that next Thursday, 19th July, we will have our church service at 9.30 am at Pendock Cross Church and our Presentation Evening in school from 6.00 pm. These are special school community occasions where everyone has the opportunity to say goodbye to the Year 6 students so it would be lovely if as many people as possible from as many years as possible are able to attend.
After School Care Club: A reminder that on Thursday 19th July this will finish at 5.00 pm to give us time to prepare for the Leavers’ Presentation Evening. Please help us by collecting your children promptly.
Newsletters via Email: If you have not been receiving these newsletters via email for the last few weeks, it will be because we did not receive your response to the ‘opt in’ email that was sent out on 11th May. We therefore removed your email from the distribution list to comply with GDPR. If you would like to go back on the list, please send an email to the office address to confirm this.
FOPS News: Thank you to everyone who completed and returned the recent questionnaire which will help us to plan future events. As you may remember, there was a prize draw for all completed questionnaires to win a £25 voucher which can be used towards any ‘school’ expense (ie lunches, breakfast club, after school care). The winner will have their voucher attached to this newsletter, so check your envelopes now!
