On Friday 16th February, Class 1 travelled to Castlemorton Primary School to celebrate Chinese New Year along with Yellow Class. Eldersfield Primary School, Countryside Day Nursery and Castlemorton Caterpillars participated in the celebration too.

We had a fantastic day learning about the Chinese New Year and participating in engaging and exciting activities.  They included making things, role play, music and dance, decorating biscuits and exploring using chopsticks. Some of our favourite activities included making fans, drums and dragons, writing our names in Chinese and learning how to say happy new year in Mandarin.

Some of the children spent lots of time using the big blocks to create their own Chinese dragon ship.

We loved the delicious lunch cooked for us all by Mr Platt.  We got to eat sweet and sour pork, honey chicken wings, sweet fried Chinese leaves, noodles, rice and prawn crackers.  We enjoyed mandarin oranges and ice-cream for pudding.

Thank you Castlemorton School for an amazing day and what a super way to finish the half term!
