Pendock CE Primary School

Our Tanzanian Partnership (2012)

We are very fortunate to be setting up a partnership with Chamwino 'B' Primary School in the town of Morogoro in Tanzania. Our joint curriculum project is called 'You and me makes us'. We have a broad range of aims and objectives for this project. We plan to explore positive personal relationships. To think about our sense of identity and self worth. We also want to understand the value of being welcoming and to celebrate difference. These will all be explored through various individual and class activities.

We're looking forward to hearing all about Mrs Evans' experiences in Tanzania and then to welcoming staff from Chamwino  Primary school as they spend time with us in Pendock.

Chamwino 'B' Primary School and their head teacher Mr Pete Semwija.

A huge 'thankyou' to those who came to help with our sewing project for Tanzania. Our plan is to make draw string bags, complete with a Pendock logo and filled with goodies, as gifts for the staff in our Tanzanian link school. We had a very productive morning. Lots of chat, tea and sewing...of course!

The children have been creating some counting books. These will be taken as gifts to our Tanzanian partnership school. The children worked in mixed age groups. They planned, designed and then made their books. Each book is beautifully illustrated and has pop-up features and other moving parts. The text is in both English and Swahili.

Class 1 have made some information books all about Pendock School.  They have taken photos of themselves, their favourite places in school and favourite activities. These will be taken to Tanzania so the children there can see what our school is like.
